An Innovative & Creative Project Competition on “A Journey the Socio-political, Historical and Economic Dynamics and Evolution of Bangladesh” was organized by the Department of Social Science at the Multipurpose Hall (Annex 7, AIUB Permanent Campus) on April 04, 2019. The event aimed at making all fresher from BBA & FASS students aware of various social, political, economic, Tourism, language, and cultural issues of Bangladesh. This competition created social understanding and awareness among the participants and other students at the AIUB. The session was inaugurated by the Prof. Dr. Md. Taufiqul Islam, Head, Dept. of Social Science, in presence of other faculty members Dr. Buddha Dev Biswas, Ms. Farhana Afroz, Ms. Shaira Matin, and Prof. Dr. Ramit Azad.
The prize giving session started with the welcome address by Prof. Dr. Md. Taufiqul Islam. Among all sections of Bangladesh Studies, 42 projects, 6 videos were selected and displayed in the Competition. Six best teams were given prizes along with certificates of appreciation by the honorable Chief Guest, Ms. Machiko Yamamura, Second Secretary & Head, Cultural Affairs, Embassy of Japan. Dr. Kiyoko Eguchi, Faculty, Miyazaki University, Japan. Mr. Yuki Morishita, Coordinator, Language Program, JICA, Dhaka, were the special guest. Ms Machiko was impressed to see such creative and innovative projects. She shared her thoughts and experiences with students. She provided some valuable information for student scholarships in Japan. The participants greatly cheered the Ms. Machiko’s motivational speech.
Later the program became more graceful with the presence of Prof. Dr. A B M Siddique Hossain, Dr. A. B. M Rahmatullah, Prof. Dr. Faruque, Mr. Md Hamidul Hoque, and other faculty members. The session was ended by the Prof. Dr. Tazul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Science, by giving a note of thanks. The event ended successfully with the enthusiastic participation of all the students and generous cooperation of the AIUB management.
